The year 2025 was still very young when Izzy Hartley and J.J. Chamberlain from York decided to join forces in order to spread hope and harmony with their music. Nine months later, the duo’s first musical baby has been born: it is the versatile indie folk anthem Nightblindness. For almost six minutes, The Pennydrops deal with an everlasting inner conflict. This battle is fought between the will to break free and the acceptance of privations in exchange for staying inside one’s comfort zone. Nightblindness is an amazing folk song that includes sweet harmony, grungy gloom, and an anthemic chorus.
