Do you have a moment to talk about loose balloons? If you are looking for a coherent album that is constantly sentimental and catchy, yet various, you should definitely listen to this twelve-track longplayer. Alongside his friends Niko Graham, Sam Love, Travis F. Welch, and Will Diebold, songwriter Mahto Addison-Browder presents a release that is as colourful and diverse as a meadow in spring. Mahto and The Loose Balloons have recorded a dozen timeless tracks which combine the greatest sounds of the second part of the 20th century, and stir them up with a contemporary modern twist. The musical range of Knock Knock It’s The Loose Balloons reaches from Pop to Folk and from Indie Rock to Blues. And with a mind full of great ideas, Mahto Addison-Browder has wrapped these sounds up in soulful and entertaining little tales.

Las Historias – House Of Pain

Album | 02/08/2024 | Electric Valley Records
30:45 | 8 tracks | Vinyl/Digital
Heavy Rock / Psychedelic Rock
Laboulaye, Argentina

House Of Pain by Argentinian trio Las Historias is located somewhere between the Summer of Love and the Dawn of Doom. Infernal flames meet acid sunshine when Jorge Iramain, Tomas Iramain, and Matias Maltratador produce thir fuzzy, psychedelic and heave sounds. House Of Pain describes a significant development of the band’s skills, experience, and also gear compared to their selftitled debut album from 2020. Yet, the trio held on to their fuzzy Garage Rock sound which emphasizes the heavy psychedelic aura of the album. This is a fascinating dark sonic trip to dive into.

sea saw – Surf Simulation

Album | 12/07/2024 | Wytwórnia Tematy
37:15 | 9 tracks | CD/Digital
Post Punk / Heavy Psychedelic Rock
Danzig, Poland

Surfing in the Baltic Sea is not a feel-good hobby for the faint-hearted, no matter if with or without wetsuit. Nevertheless, Baltic Surf Rock is a thing, and its protagonists Maksymilian Mróz, Dawid Leszczyński, Piotr Jarmowski, and Paweł Rucki are here to give us an impressing presentation. Surf Simulation is sea saw’s second longplayer, and it somehow resembles falling into freezing cold salt water and getting dragged down into a vortex of overwhelming psychedelic. The cold melancholia of Post Punk embraces mind-expanding psychedelia and clashes with heavy Alternative Rock motifs. Surf Simulation contains nine tracks of comfortable cold and the determination of those who are ready to face the storm. The album also contains the band’s first song that is completely sung in Polish.
