More than seven years since the release of their sophomore longplayer Katastrophil, Germany’s progressive genre-benders Orange Utan are back with a great announcement. Furchtus is the first our of three ex ante singles of their upcoming third longplayer Futur III, to be released by the end of the first quarter of 2026. The nine-track album will be published on bandcamp on 27 March 2026. By the end of summer of this year, it will also be released for streaming platforms such as Tidal, Deezer, and others.

The new single already reveals that Orange Utan have majorly reinvented and refined their own sound. Artistic and sophisticated soundscapes oscillate between 60s and 70s prog, post modern noise and post genres, and confident non-conformity. Furchtus is powerful and fragile, emotional and confident, the first step into the future of Orange Utan.

Futur III will feature many great surprises and a beautiful musical experience for fans of demanding and sophisticated sounds. Together with guest musicians Ilja John Lappin, Martin Endt, Christopher Peyerl and the HGB Chor, the quartet from Dresden and Berlin has created a truly stunning and futuristic sound. The album will be released for streaming and on CD. As a special treat, a beautiful artbook with illustrations by Jaime Villanueva will add another dimension to this multi-faceted release.
