In October 2025, Rachael Sage & The Sequins released their great album Canopy. One of the longplayer’s most loved tracks is the ballad Nexus. The song was dedicated to non-binary human being Nex Benedict who committed suicide after they experienced too much anti-LGBTQIA hate. Nexus is a living memory of a person who should still be with us, and it is a reminder to look after each other, and not let the hatred win. Recently, the New York-based artist has recorded a stripped acoustic version of this anthemic song. Powered by the acoustic instrumentation, the track’s soulful intensity has even increased.
