The Sixth Trip

On their sixth longplayer, Giöbia open the portals to the multiverse. X-ÆON is a collection of five tales set in realities parallel to the one we live in. The record’s b-side offers a very long and special ride as it contains the quadrinomial title La Mort De La Terre. These four tracks with French tracks refer to apocalyptic texts such as the ragnarök. But the a-side is not all jolly either. Giöbia create possible or fantastic scenarios set in a world very similar to ours, and all of them share a certain gloom. Good thing, space kraut spearheads Giöbia know how to add a dreamy and acidic haze to these tales which makes them appears beautiful and fantastic.

Few Words, Countless Images

X-ÆON is like a thrilling science fiction novel. Even at its darkest moments, you cannot get away from it since it it so exciting. Giöbia use very little words or vocals to tell their stories, yet X-ÆON is vivid, vibrant, and full of meaning. Cinematic and progressive soundscapes made from space rock, kraut and neo psychedelia draw a solid bridge from the summer of love to contemporary times. While doing so, Giöbia hand their audience a sonic mirror. Thus, X-ÆON is crammed with inspiration for reflection, insight, an change.

Here And Now

X-ÆON is neither a piece of nostalgia nor a futurist dream. Through hazy eyes, Giöbia present several sober looks on what it and what could be. Fantastising while staying in the here and now, the Milanese band creatures a powerful harmony between several time lines. And they do this while performing a powerful, progressive, and overwhelming psychedelic rock album.
