When Armenian band Ildaruni crashed on this planet and distributed their demo Towards Subterranean Realms, they were located amid the spheres of mystic and pagan folk black metal. Their first longplayer Beyond Unseen Gateways (16/04/2021 | Black Lion Records) affirmed this musical style. A year before their tenth anniversary, the sophomore album marks a significant shift in the sound of Ildaruni. Without neglecting their sonic broadness, the band from Yerevan has dashed into way colder regions on Divinum Sanguinem. Where once glaciers of folk and pagan metal defined the musical scenery, blizzard of razor-sharp black metal has taken over.
The Cult Is Alive
Divinum Sanguinem is a concept album dedicated to the Cult of Mithras. Ildaruni explore mystical rites and illuminate secrets of a cult unknown to the vast majority. The album is a deep dive into a fascinating, fantastic, and merciless world. Thus, the sacred blood shall be shed and spread, and a new order shall rise.
