The eight tracks on Living In Shadows‚ sophomore longplayer Neon Burning are defined by a high level of variety. Between Jazz and Pop, Prog and Alternative Rock, Andy Champion, Zoe Gilby, and their guests present a colourful and versatile sonic landscape. Nevertheless, there is something that all songs have in common although it may not be recognised immediately. If you compare the eight tracks on Neon Burning to pictures, you will encounter vanishing points in each of them. And even though, the pictures show very different scenes and perspectives, their vanishing points all guide to the same sphere: solace, confidence, courage, motivation, empowerment. Living in Shadows‚ Neon Burning is deeply uplifting album that smoothly caresses the listeners and encourages them to gain strength and a solid connection with their environment.
Out Of The Shadows
In this overarching Millenium-era-soundscape, Living In Shadows merge styles and genres from the time quarter of a century ago. Gentle and eloquently performed Progressive Rock rides over complex straits alongside eclectic Jazz patterns. Meanwhile, a dusky Alternative Rock mood constantly challenges the sunny expressions of Pop music which illuminate the scenery. As a result, a dreamy, somehow melancholic, empowering, and sophisticated soundscape embraces the listeners‘ senses and feelings.
