Blood, Death, and Fire

When reading old Zoroastrian and Persian mythological texts you may encounter the name Bahram or Warahran. This divine being is responsible for war and for those who actively participate in it. In the year 2024, two musicians from Iran formed a band which they named after this god. Sephiuchus (bass) and Ario (guitars and vocals) have now finished recordings to their first album Midnight Fire, a merciless onslaught of black, death, and thrash metal.

Resist and Rise

The eight tracks on Midnight Fire are not for the faint-hearted, neither music-wise nor content-wise. Warahran tell of the great Achaemenid Empire, of brutal wars, of invasion and betrayal, and of eternal torture and hardships. But amidst all of this darkness, there is the call for uniting and rising up against the oppressing forces. Warahran present these messages for resistance and an end to all suffering via heavily shaking and bloodthirsty sounds. The duo rejects genre boundaries and serves a boiling hot melting pot of death, thrash and black metal instead. Except for some Farsi lines in Rise Together, all lyrics are screamed in English language. Meanwhile the intensity and brutality of the musical presentation are at an all-time high.
