Of Progression and Steadiness
No matter if we dislike it or not, the world is constantly changing. Trends come and go, empires rise and fall, progression and regression fight an everlasting war until either life or death, light or dark shall forever reign. Or, there might just be pure nothingness in the end. For we do not know, better focus on some honest and real handmade rock music. Yes, that still exists, even far beyond the realms of dusty and conservative ideas. Progression and steadiness are not necessarily opposites, and here is living proof that heavy psychedelia can both, develop and stay true to her roots. Here are Æon Temple from the Ruhr area with their first longplayer Resurfaced.

Tension and Catharsis
On musical themes rooted in doom metal, occult rock, the darker sides of the summer of love, and the glorious age of desert and stoner rock, Æon Temple create a powerful field of tension. Here, the ongoing back and forth between light and dark take place. Resurfaced is a performance of the endless cycle that we are caught in. Death and rebirth, collapse and new rising, deep dreams and awakening are closely connected to each other. Æon Temple create tense moods and make them dissolve amidst roaring thunder. Between soothing psychedelia and heavy tempests of doom, this album is deeply satisfying and beautifully coherent. What a debut!
