Dreams, nightmares, memories (especially those from one’s childhood), and grandparents have one thing in common: when at least two of them come together, and the third component is edible, something weird may happen. Faroese experimental Punk Rap and Trip Hop band has given a song about such a situation to the world. The track OMMACHEPANNEKÆK combines the memory of the best pancakes ever made (Grandma’s, of course) and a savage nightmare in which the dreamer has to prepare a huge meal for guests who arrived to early. Right about the time when the dream’s architecture is about to collapse, and places or people intermingle too much, the memory of Grandma’s pancakes becomes most intense.
AGGRASOPPAR masterfully trick the listeners‘ minds into this nightmarish scenery, and even if you do not understand Faroese (like a vast majority of people, unfortunately), you can feel the panicky vibes. When the wavy soundscape climaxes in the harsh chorus especially, all you want is pancakes, and to stream the whole MIDNÁTTARSANG EP.
