Killer of Planets

Greek cosmic grind protagonists Dephosphorus are here to destroy worlds. Their fifth longplayer Πλανητοκτόνος (Planetoktonos, Greek: Planet Killer) is inspired by works of science fiction writers Ty Corey Franck and Daniel James Abraham (better known under the collaborative pen name James S. A. Corey) and philosopher Nick Boström. Furthermore, Dephosphorus have dedicated this release to Didier Séverin of Swiss sludge and mathcore band Knut who passed away in 2022. It is thus an album that was forged amidst a field of high tension. Future and past, reality and fiction, order and chaos, grief and hope come together on Planetoktonos.

The Sound of Stars and Supernovae

Planetoktonos is a sonic explosion. Dephosphorus‘ cosmic grind is a merciless and eloquent alloy made from grindcore, black and death metal, noise, insanity, astronomy and rocket science. With high precision, the quartet shoots through the intergalactic void and explores fascinating spheres. With their fifth longplayer, Dephosphorus draw invisible but stable bridges between remote universes. Sophisticated songwriting meets brutal performance, and ambivalent versions of possible futures coexist with thoughts about the past. This truly is a high-quality beast of a metal album.

We will dance again
