True Punk

Gagmesharkoff is a musician who gladly tears apart concepts and boundaries of genres, styles, or conventions. On dozens of releases, Gagmesharkoff has pushed and re-drawn the borders of Punk Rock, Garage Rock, Indie Rock, Progressive Rock, Post Rock, Noise, and much more. Whatever category you might be looking for Gagmesharkoff right now, the artist has already left it.

Constant Output

Apparently, the artist is relentlessly active, and thus you can frequently encounter new releases (on bandcamp especially). New albums and EPs, collections of B-Sides, or songs that have rested in the closet for quite some time can surprise you any time.

2024 so far

Now that the current year has reached its zenith, the first three releases by Gagmesharkoff in 2024 can be summarised. In March, the nine-track album Trade In dropped. Hardcore Punk and Garage Rock interchange with hazy Indie Rock and some emotional Pop tunes. The EP Stragglers II actually shows certain parallels to the previous release, but in the slower tracks especially, you can hear that it is a lot darker than Trade In.

And last but not least, there is the seven-track release Recreation and Good Times. Here, Gagmesharkoff invites the listeners into a comfortable lounge furnished with Jazz and Post Rock. But do not trust the first impressions, because it will become a wild ride anyways. Jazz can turn to Punk, and Post Rock can be twisted into Garage Rock. Gagmesharkoff successfully plays with expectations and thus creates great surprises on this release.
