Return of the Kobaïans
After almost twenty years with a new studio release, French Zeuhl pioneers Magma returned with their ninth album Köhntarkösz Anteria (often referred to as K.A.). Köhntarkösz Anteria is the prequel to previously released album Köhntarkösz (1974). In 2009, Magma finished the Köhntarkösz trilogy with its final part Ëmëhntëhtt-Rê. It is the story of a quest for the deeper understanding of life, the universe, and everything. Of course, immortality is among the targets as well. Köhntarkösz Anteria, the evacuated prequel, is the narrative of an epiphany, of the protagonist receiving the audition that they will become a prophet.
Cinematic Zeuhl Opera
When Köhntarkösz Anteria was released, major parts of the material were already thirty years old. Good thing, Magma’s hiatus was finally over in 2004. Köhntarkösz Anteria is a thrilling, entertaining, and highly artistic piece of progressive Rock and Jazz. Magma built beautful arcs of suspense by which they thell the prequel to the Köhntarkösz saga. This is high quality science fiction for your ears and the space between them.
