Without neglecting the melodic theme, Shedonist address the difficulties of finding one’s liberty and happiness – especially for those who do not belong to the privileged groups. As a descendant of Jewish Persian immigrants, Jasmin Toubi raises her voice for those who cannot speak out due to legal or social restrictions. Ask me why is a reminder that the fight for liberty and equality has to continue worldwide: in Iran, in North America, and everywhere else.
