Six very short reviews

Pure Trash – Coffee Stains

(Single | 01/01/2023 | Independent)
The new single by Colchester’s Pop Punk band Pure Trash hides behind a Horror Punk-like logo and a cover artwork that reminds of tough mornings. The music presented here is yet another great example for the variety of Pop Punk. Within less then two minutes, Pure Trash go from shiny Dream over melodic Alternative Rock to emotional Post Hardcore and back.

Marisa and the Moths – Pedestal

(Single | 18/11/2022 | Independent)
The pressure that is created by images in mass media can be overwhelming for people, and considering beauty ideals, it can even be extremely dangerous. Reading’s Marisa and the Moths deal with this topic which affects non-male people especially. The result is a powerful Alternative Rock anthem full of empowerment.

Faux Hex – Hierophant

(Single | 08/12/2022 | Deaf Endling Records)
Are you ready to dive into the depths of the magma chamber? The welcome to a sphere where forms and words lose their meaning. This eccentrical Trip Hop, Dub and Electronica bastard is the soundtrack to tidy up your head to.

Kestrel Palace – Swan Song

(Single | 25/11/2022 | Independet)
There is a new wave of Indie and Post Punk brewing on the British Isles, and Manchester’s Kestrel Palace is another hot artist to look out for. The single ‚Swan Song‘ is a full-throttle Garage-Post Punk-and-Roll banger that might roll you over. Better give in and enjoy the movement.

Tapwaterlucy – Speed Dial

(Single | 18/01/2023 | Independent)
So why the heck do we all have phones when nobody picks them up anymore? And the flipping fork happened to reliability? London’s Drum and Bass and Electro Pop artist Tapwaterlucy has put those very questions in a hectic but catchy tune.

AM Shanley – Glitternailed

(Single | 23/01/2023 | Analogue Catalogue Records)
If you watch the Disney Original series Extraordinary, you may already have heard the new single by Belfast’s AM Shanley. If you prefer bandcamp over Spotify, you will be happy to see that ‚Glitternailed‘ is featured on the right platform only. And if you are into laidback and melancholic Americana, you should listen to this jam.
