Back With A Bang
Seven years can be long. Back 2019, when Sonic Beat Explosion released their fourth longplayer Ruckus, our world looked different. Corona was just a beer, the heat was one of our biggest problems, and e-scooters took over the streets. Well, here we are now in the year 2026. And we all need some rock’n’roll desperately. Good thing, Sonic Beat Explosion are back with a banger. Here is the Thuringian quartet with their fifth album Chasing Ghosts.
Energy And Action
Definitely not a concept album but Chasing Ghosts has a central theme though. Those ghosts of the pasts, unfinished business, memories, inherited burdens, they keep haunting us. It is time to chase them away. Let us therefore make a big rock’n’roll bonfire and expel these ghosts. Heat, smoke, noise, and a positive attitude are the weapons to chase away the ghosts. And then let there be a bright future, and let there be rock’n’roll of course!
Unfussy Fuzz
Chasing Ghosts contains a dozen tracks, lots of energy, and not a single detour or break. This is what rock’n’roll is supposed to be like. Straight to action, no compromise, and heavily kicking. Like a heavy thunderstorm of 42 minutes, Sonic Beat Explosion‘s fifth longplayer blows away all of the dust and mist, and leaves nothing but clear air and sight. You should not expect highly progressive structures. Instead, this is some kickass garage rock, clean and dirty simultaneously.
