Sound of the Commune

Yeast Machine are a group of five friends who all live in the same house. The quintet from Southern German student town Tübingen share the same address, furniture, and musical interests. Two years after the release of their debut album Sleaze, they are back with their second longplayer Bad Milk. On ten tracks, including an intro and an interlude, Yeast Machine present half an hour of energetic music born from their collective minds.

Through the Ages, and Straight Forward

For those who love references, the music on Bad Milk can predominantly be anchored in three different heavy waters. Firstly, there is a strong 1990s’ grunge and alternative rock influence that coins major parts of the sound’s atmosphere. Furthermore, millenium-era stoner and desert rock adds heavy psychedelia and sonic dust to Yeast Machine‘s performance. And finally, the quintet from Tübingen proves that they are indeed a modern band. Their stoner grunge comes with a contemporary and prospective twist. The music on Bad Milk can be associated with fragility and resilience, emotions and toughness, down-to-earthness and open minds simultaneously.

Explosive Tension

Bad Milk is snotty, melancholic, and crammed with energy. Yeast Machine perform a chain lightning for your listening please. And with this heavily charged sound, they are a perfect fit for Noisolution since they express a similar level of energy as label companions The Pighounds, The Picturebooks, Daily Thompson, or The Great Machine. And with that amount of sheer power on record, you can imagine that Yeast Machine are wrecking house when performing on stage. Curious?
