The Third Teeth
Less than two-and-a-half years ago, Berlin’s spearhead of next-level noise and psychedelia took their listeners on a fantastic journey to the Adria. And recently, their published their second album’s Seite E (E-Side) in May 2025. And is appears that Zahn‘s source for creativity and activity is still fizzing and sputtering vividly. Felix Gebhard, Nic Stockmann, and Chris Breuer have recorded eight new tracks. Once again, they did so at Die Mühle Gyhum with Peter Voigtmann, and once again they have successfully re-invented and revolutionised their own sound.
Leaving The Coast
While staying true to noisy interference of glichty synths, warm bass, heavy guitars, and eclectic rhythms with the precision of a clockwork, Purpur indeed stands for a new Zahn sound. While the opening track Stroboskop still conveys traces of the krauty and jazzy sound of Adria, the further the sonic rides goes, the more eloquent and dense the sounds become.
Zahn dive deep into an organic sonic environment where they reveal the technics and mechanisms inside this natural body. With their sophisticated songwriting and masterful performance, the German trio dissvolves chaos into order and thereby provides a sheer fantastic and psychedelic trip.

Precision and Elegance
Those who have followed Zahn‘s musical output before, may not be too surprised that Nic, Felix, and Chris present an overwhelming performance that combines a deep passion for detail with confident execution. Nevertheless, Purpur takes this convergence of precision and elegance to a whole new level. Together with guest musicians Kjetil Nernes and Fabian Bremer, Zahn provide a breathtaking journey that reaches from hazy psychedelia over driving rock sounds up to electrifying noise and back. Flawless and beautiful.
