Årabrot – Of Darkness and Light
October 13, 2023 | Pelagic Records |
Album | Vinyl/Digital | 41:56 | 10 tracks |
Noise Rock Post Rock | Haugesund Norway |
On these ten tracks, the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra clashes with thunderstorms made from Noise, Wave and Post Punk. Amidst the eye of the storm, nihilism and cultural criticism merge with danceable rhythms and megalithic sounds. Of Darkness and Light is a stunning and cinematic album for chilly autumn nights.

Gévaudan – Umbra
October 13, 2023 | Meuse Music Records |
Album | Vinyl/CD/Digital | 43:11 | 1 track |
Epic Doom Metal Emotive Doom Metal | England |
On their second longplayer Umbra, English Doom Metal band Gévaudan dives deep into the mind of a person suffering from major depression. Mournful and atmospheric soundscapes interact with heavy riffing as Gévaudan wander through thick mist and shadows. Through different episodes and motifs, this tiring journey becomes very comprehensible.

The Great Machine – Respect
January 03, 2018 October 13, 2023 | Reality Rehab Records Noisolution |
Album | Vinyl/CD/Digital | 36:29 | 7 tracks |
Stoner Punk Sludge | Tel Aviv Yafo Israel |
The Great Machine’s third album Respect is still a massive banger, and with the re-release, it is finally attainable for the band’s huge fan base in Europe. While the trio’s sound recently evolved towards pedal-to-the-metal Stoner Punk, especially on their latest release Funrider, the album from 2018 is a lot more doomy and sludgy. Respect is a massive piece to unite headbangers, stoners and punk rockers.
