Neon Burton – Take a Ride
Album | 01/05/2023 | Sofa Records Cologne
Space Rock / Stoner Rock
Cologne, Germany
When Cologne’s handsome trio invites their listeners to Take a Ride, one might assume they offer a seat in their legendary Ford Mondeo. But the new album goes far beyond those road trips, and thus we are now exploring remote corners of outer space and the deepest layers of the self. With heavy Stoner Rock on the one hand and psychedelic Space Rock on the other, Neon Burton let the journey roll.

pMad – Fire
Single | 01/05/2023 | Zedakube Records
Industrial Rock / Post Punk
Portumna, Ireland
The world is on Fire, and honestly, there is not much else that can be said about this, apart from that the fires are rising. Galway’s pMad presents a thrilling new track that connects the burning world with dimly lit dungeon discotheques and a sonic clash of Depeche Mode, The Sisters of Mercy and Laibach. This post-apocalyptic sound is part of pMad’s new album I in Power, which can already be downloaded or bought on CD via bandcamp. Once all singles have been released, the album will also be made available for streaming.

Canine – Causality
Single | 03/05/2023 | Independent
Metalcore / Thrash Metal
Modi’In Maccabim Re’Ut, Israel
The road to Canine’s second longplayer continues with the quartet’s new single Causality. In the song, Canine deal with doubts and trust, with building a safe environment and leaving an impact on the world. Their modern mix of harsh Metalcore and massive Thrash Metal can be used for an intense full-body workout.

Cemetery Moon – Cemetery Moon
Album | 05/05/2023 | Independent
Raw Black Metal / Dungeon Synth
New England, USA
Those who like their metal black and raw will find joy in this selftitled album. Occult and mystic tales from New England have inspired the lyrics on this musical display of ice cold grimness. Cemetery Moon let the dead rise and bang their heads in a nocturnal ritual.
Hearscape – Transient
Album | 05/05/2023 | Epictronic
Modern Rock / Progressive Pop
Lyon, France
Quintet Hearscape combine soulful and artistic sonic tales with the heavy gloom of Alternative Rock. On their album Transient, the band presents a style that lets epic storytelling in the veins of Prog Rock merge with deep melancholy. The French band hence produces soundscapes that are gentle and soft, but rough and spiky simultaneously.

HEROD – The Iconoclast
Album | 05/05/2023 | Pelagic Records
Progressive Metal / Sludge / Noise
Vevey, Switzerland
HEROD invite their listeners on a fantastic journey to a possible future world, and it certainly is not the kind of future that is defined by unicorns jumping over rainbows and clouds made from ice cream. It is a dark and dystopian picture that is painted with colours of Prog Metal, Noise and Sludge here. HEROD combine the demanding song structured of protagonists such as Meshuggah and let them spiral in an endless loop of harsh darkness.

The Hip Priests – Roden House Blues
Album | 05/05/2023 | The Sign Records
Garage Punk / Punk Rock
Nottingham, England
For almost twenty years, The Hip Priests have been mowing down venues and speakers like a steamroller. During and between lockdowns, the quintet stayed at Roden House, and apparently the Blues they got there, inspired them to record eleven loud Punk and Roll rockets. The result is an earth-shaking album.

Kanaan – Downpour
Album | 05/05/2023 | Jansen Records
Psychedelic Rock / Fuzz Rock
Oslo, Norway
Not only the cover artwork, but also the sound of Downpour is obviously a sequel to Kanaan’s previous album Earthbound. And for everyone who loves fuzz-loaded Psych and Stoner Rock will dance with glee, because that means that the Norwegian trio enchants our hearing with another great collection of seven swampy beasts of tracks. As an absolute highlight to his great album, Hedvig Mollestad guests in the track Amazon.

Tumble – Lady Cadaver
EP | 05/05/2023 | Independent
Heavy Rock / Heavy Blues Rock
Toronto, ON, Canada
Liam, Tarun and Will create a massive sonic vortex in which their audience can easily get lost in. Like in a dense frenzy, Lady Cadaver combines high velocity, excessive movement and psychedelic lighting. After the title track, the B-Side The Plague feels like the reflection and the re-heating of the previously experienced rush – a truly dope EP!
