Something has changed drastically in Germany’s capital Berlin. Brother Grimm, once a solo project conducted by Brother Grimm, has grown since the release of the latest full-length album On Flatland, On Sand. The solo artist who was known for his Ghost House Blues and his nightmares put to score via loops, effects and samples has found two companions. With Charlie Paschen from Coogans Bluff and Enrico Semler from Kaskadeur two extraordinaire musicians have joined Dennis Grimm and therefore made Brother Grimm become a band. Thus, three Noisolution acts have joined forces.
The Re-Invention of Brother Grimm
As the first paragraph may have revealed, not only the formation has changed. With Charlie and Enrico joining Dennis and thereby evolving the solo project into a trio, further development has taken place. Earlier publications by Brother Grimm often scratched on the surface of Post Rock or Noise from below. Nevertheless, the artistic approach done by Dennis Grimm majorly aimed towards nightmarish and pitch black psychedelic sounds. Now in full band setup, a massive transformation has been undertaken. And without neglecting the past of Brother Grimm, the band has moved on. Their new location is somewhere at the border region of Post Punk, Proto Punk, and Noise Rock.
Still Dreamy, Still Sombre
With a new sound that is less glitchy, more heavy, and more colourful, Brother Grimm proudly present the eleven new tracks of The End. Despite all the change, not a bit of the dark psychedelia has been lost in the course of the transition. On the contrary, one can state that The End is the most accessible Brother Grimm release so far. Hopefully, The End is not the end of Brother Grimm because this could be the beginning of something really big.
