Once Upon A Time At Wacken…
… there was this band from Bremen that did not have a single official release yet. Sounds like an inevitable catastrophe, does it not? Well, the opposite happened, and Dramatist wrecked house. Now, at the end of the year 2026’s fourth week, the five-piece from Northern Germany proudly released their debut album Wasting Words. And the may of course raise curious questions on whether too little or too much has been said. Worry not, dear music lover! Dramatist keep the golden ratio of what should be uttered and when to rather stay silent.
Progressive, Emotional, Introverted
Eight tracks, each of them crammed with emotions, sharp-edged riffing, and a beautiful balance between harmony and dissonance. That is Wasting Words. On their first album, the five musicians take sober looks inside and outside their own conscious world. Dramatist share deep insight to their feelings, and also address the ongoing inequality that divides our planet.
These heartful and serious contents do not keep the band from producing thrilling and heavy sounds. And thus, the musical result are almost forty minutes of melancholic yet rough sounds that are rooted deep in the 90s and 2000s. But this is not a nostalgic release. On the contrary, Dramatist stir up and spice up their mix of post hardcore, alternative rock, and death pop, and hence create a modern sound for body, mind, and heart.

Concise, Painful, Hopeful
A German saying tells us that a good horse only jumps as high as it needs to. And Wasting Words is an album that fits this expression very well. Dramatist present a concise and coherent release album. The album follows a cohesive arc of suspense, and its final track Go is the perfect ending to this impressive debut. Here are eight tracks, eight little tales, eight little highlights. Wasting Words is an honest, unfiltered, and empowering collection of songs about feelings, pain, and hope.
