The First Four Years
Bordeaux’s Endless Floods were every active in the first four years of their existence. Formed in 2015, the trio released their selftitled debut and a Split Tape with Uur in 2016, and their sophomore long player II less than a year later. Their exploration of the non-existent boundaries to heaviness continued with third longplayer Circle the Gold in 2019, and collaboration project ÂGE ⱡ TOTAL in 2021. Nevertheless, between 2019 and 2024, Endless Floods were officially on a hiatus which has now ended by the release of their fourth longplayer Rites Futurs.
New Shapes of Doom
Rites Futurs is not quite a seamless continuation of Endless Floods‚ previous joyrides through the realms of Drone and Doom Metal. With Louise Dehaye as their new vocalist, the band has gone through some serious progress and development. The drones have dissolved into a thick cloud of Shoegaze and Post Metal whch now accompany the refined Doom sound of Endless Floods. Another feature that makes Rites Futurs the stunning album that it is are the choirs which add extra atmosphere. Rites Futurs feels like a journey through time without knowledge of the direction. This is indeed a gorgeous sonic haze to get lost in.
