Hidden Landscapes

Lore City Music and Eric Angelo Bessel especially have created powerfully calm and meditative music over the past years. And only one year after the release of Mirror At Night, the Oregon-based artist continues his fantastic journey towards the depths of consciousness. Illusion Of An Inland Ocean is the third solo longplayer by Bessel, and it is a monolithic milestone in the ambient musician’s artistic development so far. Two colourful vinyl records, eighteen instrumental tracks, and over an hour of sounds and noises let the listeners wander to regions and landscapes that are invisible to the human eye.

Exploring Unseen Depths

The loose concept of the record is a journey into a misty sphere. Each of these eighteen tracks is defined by tension and curiosity. And with every step undertaken during this exploration, hidden structures and elements are being revealed. With the eyes of a discoverer, the audience is lead into the mist where they explore and experience the beauty of the unknown. Eric Angelo Bessel moves on, step by step, layer by layer, and therefore uncovers what lies beneath our pereception.

In The Calm There Is Power

Illusion Of An Inland Ocean is a fantastic and cinematic sonic exploration. The 67-minute journey is meditative, empowering, salutogenetic. Despite its spooky atmosphere, each of the eighteen track makes curiosity overcome fear. And every piece of progress comes with a reward. Eric Angelo Bessel has succesfully created the score for the joy of insight. Wafts of mist clear up, and consequently another layer of truth is being revealed; over and over again. This is music for all senses, and a mind-healing experience.
