Nathaniel Killins IV. Does that name ring a bell for you? If you have been around the techno scene for not too long, it probably doesn’t. But Debonair AKA Nate Krafft AKA Nathaniel Killins IV AKA Supernova has always been around producing top notch techno for almost two decades. And with his latest iteration under the alias Nate Nubia, enigmatic detroit techno pioneer presents three new singles of his signature style.
Since the mid-nineties this US-based producer has been switching underground techno labels, releasing top notch classic tunes and gathering following. Now he is residing at his very own local label – AN602 Recordings (an interesting naming choice which means Tsar Bomba, the most powerful nuclear weapon ever created and tested by the Soviets).
2022 marks the release of three separate singles: ‚Elktrnk Xprtize‘, ‚Mad Scientist‘, and ‚Aquatic Aliens‘. All three of them share the obligatory detroit techno traits, i.e. tempo, straight bass drum and futuristic sound. But each single has its own distinctive taste, from club and dub influences to psych synth backbone that lies almost in Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream territory.
What makes these tracks standout it’s superior production that does not influence the style. Obviously, that’s where experience and talent combine and blossom. Behold Nate Nubia – devoted veteran producer who is back once again to rule the scene. And don’t forget to check out his other project BLKGMMN.
