Rising And Alloying
Igarka were formed not too long ago, in 2023 to be precise. The following year, they played some shows in the Romagna region and made their first official relase, the single self-similar. Another year later, the first EP has been finished independently from beginning to end. Each of the five band members has worked extra hours for the realisation of this seven-track release. And like a small business that has completed an published an important project, Igarka can now look back on Dopamine Ocean with pride since it really is a great debut work.
Gaze Into The Void
Igarka are a group of musical chameleons. Their idiosyncratic sound moves in bouyant waves from shoegaze to post hardcore and from alternative rock to prog metal. And yes, certain Deftones-like nuances can definitely be spotted. But that does not make the music on Dopamine Ocean less interesting. Instead, you can constate that Igarka play a sound that has taken some elegant turns since the release of White Pony. With gorgeous pirouets, Igarka circle around deep chasms, gaze into the void, and keep dancing back and forth between heavy riffing and hazy passages.

Spiraling Away From Meaningslessness
In the centre of this sonic circus, vocalist Aisja Baglioni has the strings in her hands and tames the varied waves with her powerful voice. Like that, Igarka dash through thick mist, hover amid clear skies, and explore both freezing heights and infernal depths of sound without ever crashing or disappearing. Dopamine Ocean is a great debut of a band that we shall hopefully hear a lot more from.
We will dance again
