Nada’s Second Big Strike
Although they have been plowing through the metal underground of New England and beyond since 2013, Maidenhead have published only two studio albums yet. Their debut longplayer Decapitation Of A Maiden was released for their ten-year anniversary. And now, three years later, the band’s mascot Nada (the person wearing a gas mask on the cover artwork by Yosafat C) is back with their second strike. There have been some serious changes in the lineup of Maidenhead, and thus founding member Zack Roberts (guitars and backing vocals) is now surrounded by Zeping Song (vocals), Andre Forero (drums), Lawrence Lee (bass), and Vance Simmons (guitars). The album Maximum Clonage furthermore features guest appearances by Chris Poland, Glen Drover, and Rich Gray.
Marching Through The Battlefield
The eight tracks on Maximum Clonage can be subdivided like this: thrilling introduction (Enter The Killing Floor), six tracks of pure death and thrash metal violence, and an atmospheric outro with an outlook (Hasta La Proxima). Thus, between getting ready for action and telling us they will return, Maidenhead perform a 26-minute onslaught of heavy, raw, and hurtful precision strikes. Brutal riffs shoot forward at high velocity and meet sophisticated dexterity.
Maximum Clonage is as merciless and violent as the world it was inspired by. You might know this place very well. Maidenhead reflect on the harsh reality that we live in and perform their thoughts on the status quo powered by 80s death and thrash metal with a modern twist. Instead of searching for pioneering innovative elements, you might as well turn up the volume and let this beast of an album destroy all doubts and negativity. Maximum Clonage has the potential to make desolation and paralyses collapse.
