Noise at the Discotheque

Some time around the year 2019, four musicians from Saxon metropolis Leipzig began playing music together. What started as a loose collaboration grew to become a band, and thus, in early 2021 Melkus were born and released their eponymous debut album via Niffa Records. Further refinement of the Melkus sound and life in a chaotic world have consequently lead to the sophomore longplayer Discografia Due which is now out via It’s Eleven Records. For almost half an hour, Andy (drums), Ykcin (guitar), Günther (vocals), and Benzo (bass) invite you to an excessive dance on the ruins of our society. This is disco punk!

Losing and Partying

Discografia Due is the soundtrack of a lost world, and a collection of party anthems for those who refuse to give up completely. Heavily grooving garage rock meets dark noise rock on the dancefloor of a dimly lit discotheque built on rubble and melancholia. Here, where hope does not seem to dwell, Melkus organise an excessive celebration. Amidst the apocalyptic scenery of Discografia Due, resilience and stubbornnes grow. Is there a future or can there by hope? These questions may not find answers on Melkus‘ second album. But this disco doom punk longplayer definitely encourages us to party and resist as long as we breath. We may be losing forever but we are never giving up.
