Once Upon A Summer…

Momma were on tour again and stopped at a gas station. A billboard by an oil company said Welcome To My Blue Sky, and hence the name of a new song was born. The track which deals with going on tour and leaving regular life behind for a certain amount of time has become the title song of Momma’s fourth longplayer. On a dozen tracks, the quartet presents a cohesive narrative that can be read as a coming of age story, as a letter to everyone whose paths have crossed those of Momma over the years, as a tour diary, or as the story of people sticking together when there is chaos all around.

When Life Gives You Chaos…

… best thing you can do is find something to hold on to. When Momma songwriters Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten were parallely confronted with waves of chaos, they had each other’s backs and battled their way through all the instability, negativity, and turbulences. Stronger than before, they came back from these troubled times, and now, Momma presents a longplayer that was forged between hardships and reislience. Welcome To My Blue Sky is thus an emotional, empowering, and thrilling album.

Between Fragility and Fortitude

Like every good coming of age narrative, Welcome To My Blue Sky has a thrilling arc of suspence that includes moments of strength and weakness, upbeat passages and desolate phases. And at the end, a full circle has been made, many questions have been answered, other new uncertainties have risen, and a significant transformation has been completed. This emotional rollercoaster of a plot is presented by Momma in musically multi-faceted way. Indie and Alternative Rock, Grunge and Shoegaze, Rock’n’Roll and Pop paint versatile pictures of moods, thoughts, dreams, fears, and hopes.
