onedaybear is an artist who grew up in Cork and began publishing self-written music when he studied in Manchester. Although, onedaybear began doing so in 2010, the year 2022 can yet be regarded as the start of his musical career. The single ‚Marry You‘ was released in May of that year, and it was then followed by the single on hand, ‚Bohemian Shore‘.
onedaybear’s second official single release is a song that tells of passion, yearning and wanderlust. And thus, „Bohemian Shore“ tells of a quest for a hidden paradise. This sailing trip may have its departure at the shores of Britain, but its destination is far South since the region around Manchester is not famous for its palm trees, sunshine or tropical fruit.
Deeply rooted and far-sighted
Wanderlust and the deep wish to be somewehere else can sure be expressed in multiple musical ways. In the case of onedaybear’s ‚Bohemian Shore‘, the Mancunian roots of the artist are obvious. The warm humming of the bass, the stoic rhythm and the melancholically chanting guitar perfectly emphasize the yearningly sonorous vocals. It is this thick fog of New Wave and Post Punk in combination with dynamic Indie Rock that fills ‚Bohemian Shore‘ with passion and blue emotions. One can thus feel the coastal fog lifting as onedaybear is leaving the post-industrial spheres behind and is heading where the palm trees bloom.
