Punk Rock
Düsseldorf, Germany
Previously, their eleventh studio album Auswärtsspiel (21/01/2002) was widely regarded as a demarcation point when former protagonists of German Punk Rock Die Toten Hosen have come of age. Album number twelve instead contained more references to their Punk Rock roots without neglecting previous development. Zurück Zum Glück combines both worlds as it is thoughtful and emotional, but also activating and brisk.

Placebo – Once More With Feeling
Compilation | 30/11/2004 | Astralwerks

Alternative Rock
London, England
For their tenth anniversary, the kings of Alternative Rock ballads Placebo provided their fans with a collection of (almost) all of their hitherto released singles and two new songs. For die-hard fans and collectors, and for peope who want to get to know the band without digging too deep, this is a great collection. Collections like this may not occur to be too relevant but nevertheless end up sales hits.
Melbeatz – Rapper’s Delight
Album | 07/06/2004 | Optik Records
60:45 | 22 tracks | Vinyl/CD/Digital
Battle Rap / Hip Hop
Berlin, Germany
This collection of seventeen tracks and five skits has remained the only album release by Berlin’s producer Melbeatz. Although, the heyday of Battle Rap in Germany has already been past its best times, and the dawn of the era of Aggro Rap was clearly visible, Melbeatz and her numerous guest vocalist from Germany and the USA have hereby produced a legit banger. This is the celebration of a glorious time of aggressive yet smart rap music.
