To Tame The Horde…
… of boys with telecasters it takes a drummer. Any drummer? Certainly not! It has to be Tommy. Two years ago, Tom Konheißner and his boys released their debut album Gods, Used, in Great Condition via Noisolution. Since then, the savage pack has become even stronger. Two years of constant training, development, and madness have passed. And here they are again; telier, tommier, and stronger than before. On Bits and Pieces, Poorly Explained, the band jumps over genre barriers, then jumps back just to the kick the barriers’ butts, and then leapfrogs them again.
Always Full Throttle, Even When Parked
Bits and Pieces, Poorly Explained is a loud and dynamic album which comes up to its title. In this fast-paced world, we do not always have time to explain the details. Often times, we just have to get in, put the pedal to the metal, and enjoy the moment. Even during its few slower passages, Tommy and the Teleboys‘ sophomore longplayer is a full-throttle alternative rock thunderstorm. With a smile on their face, the musicians dash through u-turns, loopings, burning obstacles, and giant waves of genre-purists’ tears.
Cinematic Adventure Rock
An album so various can hardly be cohesive. Or can it? It certainly can, and Tommy and the Teleboys are the ones with ability to master this task. Heavy grooves like shaking dices lead to the next direction, and whenever the album’s course has maneuvred to the next theme, Tommy and the Teleboys stay there for a while before jump-cutting to the next sphere. You may think of a heavy party with psychedelic episodes, or of a deeply satisfying mind-expanding trip with sharp flashbacks and turns. Bits and Pieces, Poorly Explained is a wild ride, a sonic adventure, a thrilling story that does not need any CGI effects. 2026 may not be over yet, but Bits and Pieces, Poorly Explained is very likely one of the greates alternative rock albums of this year.
