Matt C. White – Punishers
Album | 02/05/2023 | White Locust Records

Stoner Metal / Grunge
Brooklyn, New York, USA
The sound of Matt C. White’s Punishers can be located somewhere between a rusty edge of the Space Needle, the merciless heat of the Death Valley, and the sleepless euphoria of New York. This ten-track album is a real heavyweight that melds stoner metal and grunge with post metal, sludge, and creative insanity. Diving into Punishers feels being thrown into complete chaos and disorder and then gradually recognising the systematic order of matter in this strange sphere. Matt C. White presents a pitch-black and sharp-edged version of modern music, such as the brutal blues rock ballad Animals. Punishers is a gritty, honest, heavily shaking longplayer full of bangers.
Stefanos Barbalias – Loss

Folk / Art Pop
Athens, Greece
In the course of 150 seconds, Stefanos Barbalias, Alexis Kraniou, Nikos Papavranousis, Petros Lambrides, Stavros Parginos, and The Epoch House Choir visualise an invisible bond between opposites. Emotional, sweet and heartful sounds connect love and loss, vulnerability and resilience, desire and pain. Together with his fellow musicians, Stefanos Barbalias creates a beautiful synthesis that was born from introspection and is now ready to be uttered in a very eloquent way. And it is a very artistic way in which Loss caresses the listeners‘ minds and hearts. This bittersweet tune spends hope and encouragement for those who need it.
Aliènor – Dedications

Progressive Folk / Chamber Pop
Germany
On her second release, German prog artist Aliènor has wandered far into the realms of folkloristic and symphonic music. Dedications contains settings of the poems Little Leaves and Freedom alongside three further sweet yet sophisticated predominantly acoustic tracks. The five little tales speak of wishes and desires, of emotions and passion, of dreams and, of course Dedications. The loose coherence of this release resembles a film score and easily animates the listeners‘ mental cinema. Aliènor hereby provides her audience with sonic sunrays.
