The Bitter Taste of…
… Life And Stuff is omnipresent. The Southern German quintet’s name is as simple as fitting. On their selftitled debut album, the five musicians (of which three are called Daniel!) deal with, guess what, Life And Stuff. Twelve little tales are crammed with emotions, with passion and a desire to fight for a better future, and with moments of desolation or sadness. There are multiple ways to express such content and each of them conveys a different meaning. Life And Stuff and their eponymous longplayer go for the narrative of those who refuse to give up, and thus resist and keep going. We are therefore dealing with hardcore punk, the emphasis is on the word hardcore, and you cannot deny a modern twist in the soundscape.
Of Dark Nights and New Dawn
Fueled by tough riffing and sharp-edged sounds, Life And Stuff deal with the ups and downs that make life both complicated and liveable. Sometimes, the path from an edge Close to the Abyss over an excessive night (Endzeit Official) to a new dawn (Guten Morgen) can be very short. And each of these stations may come with its unique challenges. With their hardcore punk sounds, Life And Stuff encourage and empower their listeners without neglecting the negative aspects of Life And Stuff which cannot be denied.
For Lovers and Fighters
The vinyl version of Life And Stuff is a beautiful bundle as it contains several specials. Besides the record and a lyric sheet, the sleeve contains a huge (and beautiful) poster, some stickers, and a beer mat of Ravensburg’s Café Bar Balthes. The whole album is a high-class DIY product, recorded and mixed during rehearsals and mastered at Hertzwerk Hamburg by Olman V. Wiebe. Life And Stuff may not be absolutely unique, and you can find traces of German protagonists such as Turbostaat or Days In Grief in the sound. Nevertheless, this is a passionate and honest record made with blood, sweat, tears, and hope.
We will dance again
