Diffuse Punk / Psychedelic Punk
Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Back with more Space
When Mainhattanian trio Suspectre recorded their first album, the times were coined by lockdowns, restrictions, and an atmosphere which was dystopian and annoying simultaneously. Three-and-a-half years later, Flo (guitars and vocals), Felix (drums), and Markus (bass and vocals) have entered the studio again to record the successor to their self-titled debut. Its name is simply 2 because further information is not neccessary. Instead of an inflated title, Suspectre present a short but entertaining and diverting longplayer. On eight tracks, each one of them short than four minutes in length, the three musicians present the latest development of their Diffuse Punk.
Hessian Confederates
What is Diffuse Punk, you may ask? Well, take a big bowl, and embrocate it with passion first of all. Then you add some Punk Rock (preferably late 1970s‘ style), Garage Rock, Post Punk, and Psychedelic Rock. With stirring and boiling you add a very special kind of spices which is often found in Swiss cuisine. Think of chefs like Giant Moa, The Shattered Mind Machine, or Nasty Rumours. Apparently, this recipe is also knowns outside of Switzerland – in Frankfurt am Main.
Another way to explain what Suspectre do on 2 is here: they provide a passionate kick in the butt that leads to joyful dizziness and the realisation that this world is worth fighting for. You may want to feel that kick over and over again.
