The Birthday Club
In the beginning, there were four friends. Barbara Morgenstern, Alex Paulick, Felix Müller-Wrobel, and Sebastian Vogel. It was the latter’s birthday, and the other three decided to make a very special gift for him: a new band. It was a great idea, it was fun, and somehow the four musicians agreed to get serious. The gift became a project, and then became a band. And now, this band has its first full-length release: the seven-track album A Hymn Without A Sound.
Into A Clear Sky
A Hymn Without A Sound is a collection of dreamy, soulful, and melancholic tracks. With influences drawn from indie rock, dream pop, new wave, and related sounds, The Morning Stars provide 45 minutes of reverie and emotional visions. Atmospheric soundscapes and ethereal vocals grind on heavy rhythms and sonorous motifs. This is indie rock of the artistic and dreamy kind, music for stargazing, day-dreaming, and getting lost in one’s own thoughts. A Hymn Without A Sound feels like the gentle cold of a star-bright night, and the album invites the listeners to a long stroll between thoughts, ideas, and introspects. Yet, resilience and empowerment are recurring motifs of The Morning Stars‘ debut. The track Trap might be the best example for that. Here is one of the first indie rock highlights of the new year.
