For The Mountain King, the time span between two full-length releases is also the time for some smaller or off-theme releases. Thus, regarding the oeuvre of The Mountain King, you can highlight a main trail with Doom Metal albums such as Stoma, The Small Of Stars And Vomit, or Wicked Zen. Parallely to these albums, many little EPs, mini albums, splits, and other releases fill up the spaces in between. Some of them are closely related to the Post Rock / Noise / Drone Doom atmosphere of the main plot while others are completely different such as the Electro Punk EP C.A.O.S.D., the LoFi symphony Tsunami Of Hope, or the video game score Super Dead Isle 2. Here we are with a new publication from The Mountain King founder Eric McQueen, an instrumental two-track EP of pure guitar drones and noises, this is 死の真空 (Shi No Shinkū – Japanese: Deadly Vacuum).
Hovering Into Nothingness
死の真空 is free from overdubs, artificial intelligence, or mercy. This is pure noisy Drone Doom. Eric McQueen has recorded twenty-one minutes of distorted noises with one guitar. And as the title may already tell, 死の真空 deals with the inevitability of the void devouring everything. This EP contains meditative potential for those who are willing to let themselves go and dive into this Noise session.
