Teraton is a self-released industrial artist, relatively new and fresh in the scene – yet showing proper potential and charge.
Working in the field of alternative rock-driven industrial, ‚Hullabaloo‘ is a prime example of the third wave of industrial bands that firmly established their presence during the last two decades. This means the recipe for Teraton’s spell is a bit of watered-down Ministry angst, more synthetic stuff from the book of Nine Inch Nails and Frontline Assembly and Skinny Puppy’s negativism.
The song is a steady flow of generic machinery beats, grumpy goth vocals, nominal guitar presence with a blank tone, and socially edgy lyrics. The release is accompanied by a music video, that features familiar imagery for the genre and the artist’s face, all buried in layers of glitch and visual distortion.
What comes as an unexpected twist is the bridge part of the song which is built around dissociating it into a wall of sound noise – it’s great for taking your favourite drugs! And just as soon as you melt into one abstract mess, Teraton rudely awakens you with another chorus and an abrupt full stop.
‚Hullabaloo‘ is the perfect prescription for any classic industrial/alternative rock fan, whose thirst for dark dance music has been massively undersupplied lately.
